Welcome to Cyber Safety Watchdog
Hi there! I’m so glad you’re here. Thank you for visiting!
I created this newsletter to educate people, especially those of us tasked with protecting kids and older parents online (GenX, Millennials, mid-lifers).
I help families understand the psychology of scams, why smart, educated people fall victim to them, and how to have the tough conversations that can protect kids, parents, and grandparents online.
I have a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity and undergraduate degrees in Psychology & Sociology. After my mother had a significant amount of money stolen by scammers, I dedicated my career to understanding the psychology of why smart people fall victim to scams, and how individuals can protect themselves and their loved ones online.
I share weekly scam alerts, prevention tips, and insights you won’t find in tech-heavy guides.
The threat of scams are real and they are not going away anytime soon. In fact things are only getting worse with advancement in AI technologies.
Each week I’ll send you a mixture of:
Scam alerts - a new scam or trend to watch out for (or sometimes a reminder of the most popular and prominent scams)
Red Flags to watch out for
The psychology behind why the scam is effective
Easy, practical tips to stay safe online
Scam stories - so we can learn from others
Practical tips on how to spot scams
Recommendations for related products, apps, services, or websites
Paid/premium subscribers receive a second newsletter with additional, more detailed information and free downloads and guides to stay safe online and to help protect your loved ones.
Want to help someone else? Forward this publication to mom or dad or your favorite swinging senior and encourage them to subscribe so they can stay safe!
Thanks so much for joining the Watchdog community!
